The blade has two flat sides making it our easiest knife to sharpen although this is at the slight compromise of how sharp the blade can be (see our Concave Reed Knife for the ideal sharpness/ease of sharpening compromise)

Many reeds open up well in the middle and upper range but go thin or unstable when you ask them to whisper down low

all you need to do is squeeze small amounts of oil in between any moving keywork / keys
