5’2” X 9’5” Antique Turkmen Main Carpet [RR-0096] wall hangingTurkmen Main Carpet. Afghanistan. The aina gochak main border frames a 4 X 7 gul layout of varying size on a rare purple ground. An interesting gurbaghe secondary gul. Radiating bird heads. This hard to attribute main carpet shows features of both Tekke and Ersari. Uneven gul sizing, and smaller carpet size indicate this to be a tribal treasure. Excellent original condition with full pile and soft, floppy handle. No repairs. 6 cord checkered selvedge.
