15-01: Numerical Study on Erosion at the Tube Entry Region of an Air Cooled Repair and ConstructionA parametric study has been carried out to investigate the effect of steam velocity, particle diameter, particle amount, particle material, and steam velocity profile on heat exchanger tube erosion using CFD. The discrete phase model is used to analyze erosion behavior and each simulation condition is evaluated in terms of erosion rate. Several erosion mitigation methods are described based on CFD results.
Matrai Power Plant in Hungary decided in 1990 to replace all former "solutions" with one "Quality Set" for the different performances
Kentucky Power Company's Big Sandy Unit 1 cooling tower was the first built in this country using large-scale natural draft design with a concrete hyperbolic shell
Money is just as surely a corrosion engineer's tool as is a test coupon or a pH meter
The use of larger and more efficient mechanically induced draft cooling tower fans has given rise to the use of long single piece fan gearbox input shafts
water conservation)
It will take into account the evolution of regulation in Europe
The consumptive use of water is of concern to us -- for plants that use cooling towers (the practical alternate method to using stream or reservoir water) use more (consumptive) water per kilowatt hour generated than do plants which are able to circulate their cooling water in lakes
This paper will evaluate the standard and published data for small towers per ATC-128 with respect to usability for acoustical consultants
While owners of cooling towers are concerned about managing their legal liability
Cooling tower assessments / inspections are recognized as a practical and necessary aspect of regular monitoring of the structure’s condition
