The artwork was created by the Danish artist Ludvig Messmann in 1890 and is part of a whole series of beautiful Gothenburg motifs. Ludvig Messmann was born in Denmark and moved to Gothenburg in 1859, where he later immortalized the city in a series of paintings, mainly in oil and watercolour.
