Purplish color with a great depth

along with a savory

with plenty of mouth-blackening fruit

but some Chassagnes surprise with an unexpected red fruit note

The palate is broad and expansive with chewy mineral-like tannins lingering on the finish

Aromas of spicy cherry and vanilla lead to generous flavors of cherry and blueberry with secondary notes of black pepper and baking spice

I am a big fan of this vintage of DP

and of course German – and will also stand up on its own as an exceptional aperitif

lingering aftertaste of ripe pears

especially if buffalo mozzarella
