This rug was made by a very famous master weaver

Unlike more refined city rugs such as Tabriz or Kashan

The design of the central medallion resembles that of the interior side of the dome of the Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque in Isfahan

and there are 240 to 550 knots to each square inch in a silk one
