Nightlights world nature photography awardsThe spring Milky Way and northern lights shine over the Spanish Peaks Range near Bozeman, Montana. This was a three mile hike which, even with a heavy pack and during the middle of the night, should have been relatively easy. Doing it without my snowshoes was a big mistake, however, and I've rarely been as tired as I was when this shoot was complete.
