Preferring full sun, the tree will be 8 ft tall and 3 ft wide in 10 years, and is hardy to zone 4. We would consider this tree to be quite RARE as

The bright green sword-like foliage makes up to 3 flower buds that last for up to 2 weeks

warm yellow-orange blossoms in April and May

The 'spiny' look of this plant is valuable for contrast to other plants with larger foliage
