Candidate Chairs OttomanA pair of 'Kandidaten' (Candidate) chairs designed Ib Kofod Larsen's as part of a collection drawn for Swedish producer Olof Perssons Ftljindustri known as OPE in the 1950s. Perssons small factory was based in Jonkoping in southern Sweden and like several other domestic producers at the time they looked south to Denmark for talented architects in the 1950s. Prior to working with Kofod Larsen and his Danish contemporaries Tove and Edvard Kindt Larsen,
The beech legs have been dark stained and both chairs have been completely refurbished with new foam
The tapered beech wood legs have been re-stained and oiled and the chair has been completely reconditioned by our in-house team at our workshops in London and reupholstered in premium New Zealand sheepskin
The chair has been reupholstered in luxurious Karakorum Ecume fabric by Dedar Milan
The chair gained the name ‘Elizabeth’ after Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain acquired a set from a Danish furniture fair during a state visit to Denmark in 1958
The inside of the drawers are made from rich Danish oak
