Geography - Developing an Approach to Fieldwork (CPD Video: 1hr 50min) OfstedDescription Speaker: Alex Neophitou A huge part of teaching geography is developing skills in fieldwork. The National Curriculum states that it aims to ensure children can, collect, analyse and communicate with a range of data gathered through experiences of fieldwork that deepen their understanding of geographical processes. Fieldwork can begin simply within your own school grounds, then around your local area and built into school trips and visits

One of the main issues is that the writing curriculum often introduces complex tasks too early before many pupils are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills
